Beer Bread

3 cups self-rising flour

1/2 cup sugar

1  12 ounce bottle of beer (reg , light or non-alcoholic)

1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted.

Stir together first 3 ingredients, pour into lightly greased 9 by 5 loaf pan.  Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Pour melted butter on top and bake for an additional 10 minutes.

Variation!  add 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese and 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh chives to dry ingredients….
